AC still coming through with cold hard cash. March 30th, 2007

I wish it was more but I got paid for my second article, too. I’ve diversified in a number of directions with my writing. Another blog: http://www.hillbillypolitics.com , Associated Content, and several works of fiction as well.

In addition to that, my business keeps me fairly busy. I have a couple of big projects to do in that area, with 2 more on the way. I don’t have time to play Sims2. Sorry all you Sims fans. I do have a lot of links going out to other sites if that helps. Besides, I never got any feedback and the stats’ search terms remain relatively unchanged from prior months.

Some help for writing credits and a little pocket change, too. March 12th, 2007

Associated Content actually pays for articles. They bid on articles anywhere from $3 – $20 dollars. I did say pocket change, didn’t I? The downside is you have to give up all rights to the content once you sell it to them. Another downside is short stories, poetry, and the like are not accepted for paid submissions.

Taking a look at the site, there are a lot of content areas covered, so if you need a little pocket change to buy new print cartridges or whatever, it couldn’t hurt to dust off some of those old how-to articles, or anything else that strikes your fancy. They also have an ideas wizard once you join, if you need some help with picking out topics to write about.

I have a link to my content on the upper right, if you’re curious.

For years… February 18th, 2007

I have assiduously avoided talking politics on the internet or any other venue. I’m a pacifist at heart but I’m a pacifist who can be pushed only so far before I fight back. For years now… almost the entire 8 years… I have wondered why people hate George W. Bush so much. It’s unrealistic at its best description, let alone in the context of this great democratic society which we all tout. In my quest to understand this phenomenon, I’ve been scouring the internet and arrived at a site which puts it in perspective(a psychological perspective, which is what I was searching for):

http://drsanity.blogspot.com/

While I don’t necessarily agree with everything the good Doc says, most of it makes a lot more sense than the unreasoning hatred does. At the same time I have hope; hope that I’m not alone in my sentiments and thoughts about current events in the world because there are tons of links to other sites with similar thoughts.

It is not a site for the faint at heart, for sure, and much of it may even make you angry. It is a site guaranteed to get you thinking about the world if you are open to anything but your own opinion, which may or may not have been formed under the coercion of mainstream media.

If anyone has links to opposite views within a psychological context, such as this site’s, I’d appreciate it. I like to look at both sides.

MacDonald’s Golden Arches February 14th, 2007

I believe they may actually be made of gold… mine. Yesterday, I went through the drive through, ordering two #7s at $3.20 each and one #9 at $3.75. My total was 16.44 according to the cashier. When I asked for clarification, the cashier rapidly answered with, “Please pull up to the first window to pay.” Do the math. The order came to $10.15 before tax. My tax was approximately 60% of my order. Had I a calculator at the time I could give you an exact amount but I didn’t. I stayed in the line just long enough to do the math,  and then, as soon as there was room to move out of the queue, I left.
